MuncieCARES is the NAMI Delaware Co. Indiana Chapter's local Suicide Awareness & Prevention Coalition

Purpose

We serve Delaware Co., Indiana, which includes Muncie, Albany, Daleville, Eaton, Gaston, Selma, and Yorktown. 

MuncieCARES has a number of programs and committees to serve individuals who have lost someone to suicide (suicide survivors), to bring awareness to suicide and mental health concerns, to link those with lived experiences with local and state resources & support, and to offer prevention and support activities, interagency, government, and faith community collaboration. Additionally, we serve the community by the provision of prevention, LOSS Team, and support trainings.  

Our goals are to reduce stigma, provide hope, education, and support to our community so that those whose lives are touched by suicide can experience compassion, collaboration, and care.

MuncieCARES Comfort Bags and resources provided to local suicide survivors. Purple bag is for adult survivors and blue is for child/teen survivors. Bags include comprehensive resources, comfort items & grief journals or coloring books, locally handmade care items, and books written by experts and those with lived experience.Please visit our Funds, Bags, & Books page under Donate in the upper navigation menu if you are interested in sponsoring one or more bags or materials to be distributed in Delaware Co, IN.

MuncieCARES has trained over 3,000 individuals in evidenced-based suicide prevention and created dozens of trainers able to deliver prevention training. We are a local, 100% volunteer-led and facilitated nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and our community.
